
Venue
The conference shall take place at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, Vancouver Campus. The Vancouver campus is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people.
The law school is a 10-15 minute walk from the UBC Bus Loop. Accessible entrances are located in the building’s South, West and East sides.

Accommodation
There are limited number of guests accommodations located on-campus:
Vancouver’s downtown core offers a range of accommodation options. The university campus is a ~45-60min bus ride from downtown or a 25min drive.
Travelling to Vancouver
The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) connects Vancouver and the Lower Mainland to the major cities in Canada and across the world. It consistently ranks among the best airports in North America and the world. Free Wi-Fi service is available throughout the airport.
The airport has several transportation options: taxi, Uber, Lyft, Evo car share, car rental, public transportation. Several hotels offer courtesy shuttles to and from the airport.
The airport is approximately a 30-minute car ride to downtown or the UBC Vancouver campus. If you are taking a taxi, there is a standard fare for travel from airport to each zone.
The airport is one of eight Canadian airports that have US Border Pre-clearance facilities. Notwithstanding, it is advised that all travelers arrive at least three hours for US and International fights; for domestic flights, a two-hour window is advised.
Travelling in Vancouver
Taxi. Several taxi companies service Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Most taxi operators accept cash, credit card and Canadian debit card payments.
Taxi operators can accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids.

Carshare. There are several car share providers in Greater Vancouver. For short-time visitors, Evo Care Share is the most convenient. It is advisable to register with the car share operator in advance.
There are designated parking spaces for car share operators within the UBC campus. Refer to your car share provider for information on where you can park.
Rideshare. Both Lyft and Uber operate in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Public Transportation. Vancouver has a well-established public transportation infrastructure. TransLink operates several express and regular buses to and from the UBC Vancouver Campus 24/7.
All buses accept contactless credit and debit card payments. Cash payments are also accepted but no change will be returned.
A single fare is valid for 90 minutes across the TransLink network (e.g. bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus and HandyDART). Please visit TransLink for more information.
TransLink is integrated into Google Maps trip planning service.
Cycling. Vancouver is continuously improving its bike route network. There are several bike parking options around Allard Hall and across the campus. It is strongly advised to lock your bike when unattended.
Vancouver also has a public bike share program: Mobi by Rogers. The nearest Mobi station is less 150 meters across Allard Hall.
E-scooter Rental. Lime operates in Vancouver and has several stations across the UBC campus.
Other Essentials
Currency. The Canadian Dollar is the currency of Canada. Most establishments do not accept American currency as legal tender. Please be advised that there are limited currency exchanges outside the airport.
Credit cards and Canadian-issued debit cards are widely accepted in Vancouver. Since COVID, several establishments only accept contactless payments.
Prices are posted in Canadian dollars and often excusive of tax.
Tipping. Tipping in Vancouver is customarily 15 to 20% of the bill.
Electricity. Canada uses both Type A & B outlets at 120 volts, 60 Hz.
Smoking and alcohol. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) and consumption of alcohol are restricted in public spaces.
Smoking is prohibited in all public parks (including the Vancouver Seawall), public transportation and within six meters of building openings and air intakes.
The designated smoking area at the Peter A. Allard School of Law is located at the building’s North entrance.
