
The Estates, Trusts and Pensions Journal Conference
The Estates, Trusts and Pensions Journal, Canada’s premier platform for estates and trusts content, will welcome Canadian and international speakers to a two-day conference at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, to be held on February 19-20, 2026. The conference is generously sponsored by STEP Canada, Horne Coupar LLP, Hull & Hull LLP, Whaley Estate Litigation Partners, the Peter A. Allard School of Law and the Centre for Business Law at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Horne Coupar LLP’s sponsorship is in memory of the late Donovan Waters, who contributed so much to trust law.
The conference will feature cutting-edge presentations about trustee discretion, secret trusts, purpose trusts, trusts theory, spousal trusts, family provision litigation, trusts for Indigenous Peoples, foundations, and the incorporation of AI and other tech innovations in trusts and donatio mortis causae.
The conference shall be held in-person and virtually.
